Most brand-new lifters should start with the Intro Barbell Clinic. Personal training is better suited for people who want one-on-one coaching beyond that, need more scheduling flexibility, or want a more customized arrangement.
Personal training works well for people whose schedules do not line up cleanly with Barbell Club hours or who need a more customized training schedule.
If you want one-on-one coaching, more direct oversight, or a higher-touch training relationship, this is the strongest fit.
This can also make sense for people training around unusual constraints, people returning after time away, or lifters who want a more customized approach than group sessions provide.
If you can't train with us in person, we offer online barbell coaching with the same individualized programming and feedback, delivered remotely.
If you are starting from zero, the Intro Barbell Clinic is still the best first step for most people. Personal training usually makes the most sense after that or when you already know you want a more individualized setup.
Single sessions are a good fit for visiting lifters, people who want a form check, or those who want one-on-one coaching without committing to a longer package.
For packs of 6 or more sessions, the hourly rate drops to roughly $102-$120 per session depending on the package.
"Coach David has a straightforward, no-nonsense approach and an impressive depth of knowledge—not just in powerlifting, but also nutrition and overall life balance. In just five months, I've seen significant gains in strength and confidence in my training."
Linda — Personal Training Client
Barbell Club is coached small-group training on a set schedule. Personal training is one-on-one with fully flexible scheduling. Both include individualized programming and coaching on every rep. Personal training makes sense if you want dedicated attention, have an unpredictable schedule, or are working through specific constraints.
For most new lifters, yes. The Intro Clinic teaches you the main lifts and finds your starting weights in a focused 2-hour session. After that, you can continue with personal training, join Barbell Club, or both. If you already have barbell experience, contact us to discuss your options.
Most people benefit from training 2-3 times per week. Your programming will be based on your schedule, recovery, and goals. Even once a week produces meaningful results if you are consistent.
Yes. Some members attend Barbell Club for most sessions and add occasional personal training when they want extra attention on a specific lift or need scheduling flexibility for a particular week.
